Biography


Tom Vanasse is a Postdoctoral Fellow researching the neural mechanisms of both sleep and consciousness among human participants. He is focused on applying simultaneous fMRI and EEG methods in this regard. Tom received his PhD in Medical Physics under the mentorship of Dr. Peter T. Fox at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2019. Tom is currently funded by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders And Stroke (NINDS) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) under Award Number F32NS114034.

Research Interests: fMRI-EEG, Neural Correlates of Consciousness, Memory Consolidation, Neuroimaging Meta-Analysis.
