Biography


Francis is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the International Institute for Integrative Sleep Medicine (IIIS), where he specializes in sleep research. He earned his Ph.D. in Cognitive and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Tokyo, Japan, and holds an M.S. in Psychology from Peking University, China. Additionally, he received a B.Eng. in Optical Information Science & Technology from Jilin University, China.
As an experimental psychologist and cognitive neuroscientist, Francis engages in multidisciplinary research that combines behavioral and neural approaches to explore the relationship between consciousness and the brain. His work involves the use of brain stimulation techniques to study different states of consciousness, such as sleep and wakefulness, with the goal of understanding how these states and brain functions during these periods are influenced. He focuses on the modulation, recording, and analysis of neural oscillations.
