Biography
Felipe Paiva obtained his MD from Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de São Paulo in 2014. His passion for neurophysiology started in Freiburg, where he investigated the use of deep brain stimulation for treatment-resistant depression at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. Since then, he has been continuously involved in research at the interface between neurology and psychiatry – with a more recent focus on the dynamics of brain networks. His career plans are to become a practicing physician-scientist and – hopefully – help to reunify neurology and psychiatry.
Research Interests: Neurophysiology, EEG, fMRI, Brain Networks, Signal Processing, Epilepsy, Consciousness, Sleep.
